China's manufacturing index came in at 49.4 per cent in June
China's manufacturing purchasing managers' index was 49.4 per cent in June, unchanged from the previous month.
In terms of the size of enterprises, the PMI for large enterprises was 49.9%, down 0.4 percentage points from the previous month and below the critical point. The PMI for small and medium-sized enterprises came in at 49.1% and 48.3%, up 0.3 and 0.5 percentage points respectively from the previous month and below the critical point.
In terms of the sub-indexes, among the five sub-indexes that constitute the PMI, the production index and the supplier delivery time index are above the critical point, while the new order index, raw material inventory index and the employment index are below the critical point.
Among them, the production index was 51.3%, 0.4 percentage points lower than the previous month, which was above the critical point, indicating that the manufacturing production continued to grow and the growth rate slowed down. The new orders index was 49.6 percent, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous month and below the critical point, indicating a decline in orders for manufactured goods. The raw material inventory index was 48.2%, up 0.8 percentage points from the previous month. The employment index was 46.9%, 0.1 percentage point lower than the previous month and below the critical point, indicating a slowdown in the employment of manufacturing enterprises. The supplier delivery time index was 50.2 percent, down 0.7 percentage points from the previous month.
